Fishing Reports for Minnesota Fishing-Archive
Name: Judds Resort Lake_WinnibigoshishAnother great week of fishing. Not much for snow and can drive anywhere you want. Stay away from all inlets and outlets and watch out for cracks. A lot of limits of Perch and some nice Walleye coming in. Did get some reports of 24" Walleye slot releases. North end of Snag Hole in front of the federal homes, Sugar bar, Center bar, Moses & horse Shoe bars are the best. 24' to 30 ' for depth and use a Glow Devil perch, Fire eye minnow Perch or a rattlen glow color. Still have to keep moving tell you get on the Perch then stay in that area and have fun. Name: Darcy Mille_Lacsmyself and seven buddies are heading up to dickies portside jan 31st through the 2nd ive been reading alot of reports seems as though you fellas are workin hard for the eyes. hope things change ill keep watching to see what to bring Name: Bob Dziuk Leech_LakeExpatriated Minnesotan seeking large fish through phenomenom known as ice. Brothers and I will be comming up around later part of Jan. I hope the weather cools down some. Are there any vehicles out on the ice? I've heard ice is very thin for this time of year. What do the Muskies hit best on? Mexican Bride thinks I'm crazy but here I come! Bob Name: Denny's Den Mille_LacsThe mud was very productive this last weekend. Fish the east side stright out from Hunter's. Find 29 to 30` during the day. Caught 7 wlleye's and 2 perch. Night was not productive. Fish sunrise and sunset. You will do well. Use a perch look alike bait and tip it with a fat head (dead). Good luck. DP Name: Matt Mille_LacsHeading up to fish Mille Lacs, out of Dickies, this weekend. Can a guy bring his portable, and auger, and set up around the sleeper, or do you have to buy a license, just for that, other than your fishing license. I really like to read your reports, {maybe not the results} but it's good to hear any info you can get. Thanks Matt Name: George Lake_WinnibigoshishJust got back from a weekend trip at Winni! I kept 33 all 9 1/2 inches or bigger about 10 of them were 11 to 12 inches. My brother got 29 of them same story on size. Got most of them in 40 feet of water. The bigger fish were in 40 feet, did catch some on Sugar bar, but really had to pop about 50 holes and move from hole to hole, after you would get one or two!! Good luck all!! Name: Travis Maple_Lakehas anyone tried Union or Sarah? Name: WALLEYE KILLER Mille_Lacsto all fisherman wondering about ice conditions the ice is about 14-16 inches thick depending on what part of the lake you are on. have some good luck in 26-24- 22 feet of water... low perch counts, do to low forage in the lake. better bites out on the mud i went out there on saturday for a few hours with the sled 14 inches of ice saw many people setting up for the nite bite and one guy caught two nice fish a 29 and a 27 just of the wymer and also on the bombeck earlier in the day resort flat not producing as well east flat is doing good. nobody is driving out about a 1/2 mile past the bombeck nasty ice ridge out there. saw people with good luck on the blue jug and the eilenes 9 mile center and when i was on the south end the gravel bar. all said minimal perch counts but they are down there due to the invent of the aqua vue. but hey i gotta et out fishing any questions email me
-WALLEYE KILLER Name: cookie Upper_Red_LakeI had three guys in my fish house sunday night from 4pm to 8:30pm they caught 35 crappies and missed that many more Name: Walleyedan Gull_LakeHi Morris and Hallett families!! Thanks for the nice testamonials!! Fishing has been pretty consistent! We seem to catch some walleyes each night, and if you are an experienced angler you may catch a few more!! The ice is very good over at Hole-In-The-Day Bay!! There is 14 inches of nice, solid ice!! Vehicles driving all over the lake!! The key (I believe) to the contest is either luck or prayer!! But yes, there are some nice pieces of structure to set up on. I would have to agree with the deep theory. I usually set up in 38-60 feet and jig with a spoon or a rap or something!! It is a good idea to get set up by 9:00 a.m.! Just wander around until you find a hole at the depth you want and set-up!! It's first come first serve!! Good luck and I hope you here my name as one of the big winners!! It's an awesome contest, and the best part about it is that all the money goes to charity!! Walleyedan Name: Lady Angler Mille_LacsDoes anyone know if/when Barnicle Bobs will be hosting a fishing contest this year? New owners had it last year. Was lots of fun. Please let me know if anyone knows. Thanks. Name: Tom Upper_Red_LakeYeah the Red Lake bite is slow for sure, but it will pick up in the next couple of weeks! In the meantime, I am catching my limit of crappies daily on a lake close to here. Not as big but at least I'm not going hungry! Keep the ice clean!
