Hey Dan. I started fishing Sag two summers ago. Been up there four times now. I'm learning more of it everytime I go. I'm going there in Mid-June and Mid-July this year. I like July a little better, as I can concentrate more on the submerged rock piles. Have you ever fished it before? If so, How have you done? Sounds like Fowl lake (North and South) might hold some eyes eh? Junky...........

Thanx, Junky. I've used the site alot. I'm trying to validate it and find a good way into the lake. I know you can get to it by road via Canada.

How familiar are you with Sag? I've spent a number of years on the Gunflint but haven't fished it for 30 years.

Hey Dan. Go to this site and type in fowl lake for your lake search and click on cook county. You will get the dnr lake survey and more on the lakes. They look good to me. Good luck, Junky........

Can anyone offer insight into Fowl Lake (North/South) on the Arrowhead Trail out of Hovland? Planning a trip the end of May. Is it worth the journey?

I was up on Lake Saganaga 6-9 MAR. We stayed at the Chippewa Inn on the Canada side. We caught 5 Lake Trout. That was our limit. I caught 4 myself, had to spread the catch, my licence only allowed me to keep one. 40 feet of water up by the palasiades north of Brown Island. I may make another trip this year, but will stay along the Gunflint Trail at a lodge with running water, and a warm toilet seat. There was 30" of ice and 12" plus of snow, it was great You need a remote boarder crossing permit to cross into Canada, and a non-resident Fishing licence.

Tried fishing Moss yesterday but too windy, went to Daniels and got some nice bites but no fish. Lake Trout fishing has but slow but than it has been pretty chilly and not a lot of time spend trying!

Anyone looking for a fishing guide in the Grand Marais area For the spring and summer of 2003 I think I can help. I will be in the area a few weeks this year and can put you on some great walleyes and some nice rainbows. Reasonable rates and alot cheeper if you bring your own boat. with out a boat I can only serve two persons a day. Rainbows during the afternoon and walleyes in the evening. leaves your whole morning to explore the area and spend some time in town. My E-mail address is Walleye_Man_825@Hotmail.com . feel free to contact me and i'll see what I can do for you.

I was on Sag early this summer, We caught nice walleyes, not alot but enough to keep you interested. We caught a few lakers around 10 lbs. but they were a little slow then, it sounded like th lakers were slow all summer.
