Dan

Try heading down river and find a corner and fish the out side banks, go out to the bypass bridge just west of town and try that big sand bar there. it's real shallow on the north side but cast way out the the other side and hit the channel... that is a good spot.

Well Howdy all.. Looks like summer is really trying to arrive. The water is getting a bit warmer but the cold nights are keeping that at a slow pace. Have not been on the Red as of yet due to Boat trouble, like not having one.. New boat just got done today but goes back in the shop again, sigh... I have been hitting the Red Lake river and getting some Walleyes by mistake and the cats are finely starting to nibble, they are very light and slow.. We need rain to make our river boat able. Sounds like the Red is having trouble with landings also?

Good luck and see you on the water when I get my boat back

I was wondering when do the cats usually start bitting and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips or maybe some fishing spots or some areas to try on the Red lake river. I've tried in town down by the dam but no luck for cats alot of suckers and sheepshead. DAN

The water is going down and very fishable now. It is at around 10 feet now and the cats are biting pretty good.

We have been pulling in 10-15# cats and the fight is even better in this high water and current.

We are keeping our fingers crossed so that the water goes down in East Grand so that the league can get up and running again.

Hello all, The CATS are Back! Water temp is about 59-60.

Summer is here. Monday the 20th was a beautiful day and the Cats knew it. We just pounded them on the river. We let a few over 8# go and kept two limits of 2-3#ers for smoking.

Happy fishing.

Hey Every one!! the sun is out and it's starting to warm up and become summer. The water temp is about 52 degrees. The fish are on the bite now and will continue to get better. With this rain and run off the rivers are getting higher allowing the fish to migrate up the streams and spawn. This is a good thing for those of you who are looking for the suckers. Good luck every one.

Hope to see you all on the water.

Rusty
