Question for vexlar pro's

I noticed that when my lure gets close to the red line marking bottom, it disappears and it is still 6 to 12 inches to the true bottom,

Question, is this because the bottom is muddy, and should I set my line by "true bottom" or what the vexlar is indicating bottom.

Thanks for any replies.

Where they bitting, (just kidding)

Went to 5 mile reef out of warroad today fished in about 25 ft watter, NOT ONE BITE!

Well, sometimes you win and others you lose. Worst part is that I took my wife up, now she is convinced that my fish stories are nothing but tall tales....lol

Well, it seems that the Eyes have moved to deeper water, going back next weekend to make up for this weeks failure.

Good Luck to everyone. I left you lots of fish to catch!

try perch lake for mid-range northern and eating size sunnies and some crappies. Lots of bullheads in the bay. For the northerns use glow jigs and a crappie minnow. For sunnies try wax worms. BEST FISHING is from first ice to mid January. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent a few days sat/sun this week at Eddy's...... Was very disappointed.........A friend from Colorado came along expecting some type of fish but................ There were over 50 houses out from Eddy's and only 2 walleyes were caught those two days in all these houses. We were in 16 foot of water..... Saw many small perch on the bottom, would not bite.... The walleyes showed up sparse at 11:00 PM for 15 minutes as well as around 9 AM each day for a few minutes. Was the worse ice fishing trip I have had in 20 years. The houses are poorly located 200 yards from shore..... on top of no stucture or anything...... Last time we go to Eddy's...... They need to move their houses out to where the fish are if they want future business......

Jay, from Iowa city, was up to twin pines last Sunday the 12Th., at the first set of houses at house 20 of twin pines rentals and did ok on the walleyes. only had two to take home a 15 3/4 and a 30" but caught 5 others from 19 1/2 to 27" between the hours of 2:45Pm to 7:00Pm. Hope this helps you decide if you want to come up or not. but well say it has be slow on the walleyes. was in cove bay today the 18th. and just some small perch. and a 28" walleye at 5:00 Pm.

I know things are always changing but, is there any lure that seems to be producing more fish? Also, is it worth it to fid the cribs?

We are heading up this week(1-22) to fish out of Wheelers. This is the first time on the big lake. Any suggestions on which way to go and how far out? Reading everyones reports has been helpful so far on color and depth.

My 3 guys came in for dinner at 7 pm.they stayed on the lake 17 hrs and have 35 nice fish. My 6 guys got set up about 2pm and caught 7 crappies and won huge buzz ,there at the west wind having a bite. Me and the wife went out at4:30 pm. A small snow storm blew through with white out conditions we all most turned back ,but made it to the shack. We caught 4, missed a few and I lost the nicest crappie Ive ever had up to the hole .He turned in the 10 inch hole, took out drag ,hooked my vexlair in the other hole . I grabbed the vexlair and had him in the other hole he turned again and I grabbed him by the tail my wife tried to grab my pole as I tried to hold on but he slid out of my grasp. Maybe I will get another chance at him or her tomorrow.I have mentioned in the past where I have been fishing, but some people think Im promoting a certain access so do not share that info anymore. The guys in the sleeper are not doing very well there partieing
