I forgot to include - if you do access through the tracks it is soo line policy that you stay a minimun of 4 ft. from the rails and can only be crossed at the township road. Its tight and some brush needs to be cleared, but a very nice trail (walk, snowmobile, 4-wheeler) could be at the toe of the slope for the tracks.

You are all HOT on Nottage. GREAT - The crappies are incredible, I've been out three times. Red Lake action in Detroit Lakes. But, the land owner, who believes he owns the lake. He doesn't, you are all aware of the railroad r/w that abuts the lake. I see a civil tech and a land surveryor has been on here, and I am also a civil tech in detroit lakes. I have spent A LOT of time researching and collecting info on this lake. I have the plan and profile sheets from soo line rr showing the r/w, I collected all available information from Becker Courthouse, Contacted the county rls for his records, I also went to the county engineers office and collected some plan sheets showing rr r/w. The rr right of way goes into the lake aprox. 25-30 ft for a streth of about 50ft. This homeowner no longer controls access to this lake for this reason. Soo line RR can let whoever they want on the lake through their land. Permision has to be obtained from soo line though. I has this at one time but the homeowner made such problems they said it might be best to not have the problems. So now the homeowner is back to controling the lake. I would love to get some people together and work on this. I seen the mention of a hellicopter- I checked on that and the closest place is out of fargo and very spendy. I think a plane with ski's could land though. Anyone wanting any info please email me and I will gladly make you copies of all the info I have and hopefully we can all enjoy this lake.

Well we have a decent report,the guys in the cabin Marvin and Bob have 13 and lost a few.Bruce and his buddies have 6. Brady,Chad,Joe and buddies have 18 only 2 came from my house, do I move it? They were catching fish before dark so am I on a day bite spot?Will be moving small house tomorrow and the Greek will be moving his house when he gets here. Have a full house this weekend so there will be some fish tales. Kellie will be trying for that 16 inch crappie this weekend I think she needs to try and get a 15 incher first. COOKIE

we stayed @Mort's dock.. Ice shack/sleeper had a blast caught a 20 pluslb.Northen.on 6lb test Jig pole. 23 crappie's 27 walleye's march 14&15...< Mort> went out of his way to make are trip wonderful.upper red lake is world class fishing, keep yuour line's in the water good luck!

Well things have snowballed today,2 inches of freash powder,no wind, it is a winter wonderland out there. Theres somthing about that snow when it drifts down with no wind and moderate temps just bueatiful outside Gotta love it. Making ribs and baked potatos on the grill. Should be umm good. Started with 5 guys fishing tonight now it has turned into 11 all fishing in a compleatly new area. Will be heading out after dinner to check on them all. All ready broke the plow. Need a little help! Coming up with 3 others the last weekend of March. Need to find a room (hotel,motel,etc.) for 2 nights maybe three. (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) If anyone has an idea it would be greatly appreciated! P.S. was up last weekend and did very well with GLOW GREEN around NO ONE but our group of 9! Good Fishing!!!

Baumer it is not in the 2003 regs so you do not have a drinking problem yet. Just like to wish all the fishermen good luck this weekend, seems it takes three moves on average to find fish unless your lucky enough to hit them on the first spot. COOKIE

DJA If the weather is good I would atleast stop and try, when you get into them it is unreal. Pre fished 3 different spots in the last 2 days and now have a spot for the Greek and his sweety. 3 cold attemps at finding them, the wind was unbearable but the sunrise was awesome. 2 gorgeous sunsets the last 2 nights. Some of the wifes family is coming this weekend and would like to see them catch some fish, as I have eaten the last of mine. Have 2 in the cooler I caught today so I can show them what they look like. COOKIE

Cliff, It's hard to predict how late the ice will be good. I'd say your chances are pretty good this year of being able to drive on the lake into early April, but things can warm up fast, so keep an eye on the weather.

Honzy THe snow is wind blown,so it is hard.I would say 4 to 6 inches where it isn't drifted. Where I put my house today there is 2 inches of compacted snow.

Since the Crappie season is continuos, the limit change to 10 was effective on March 1st, the same time as the new reg’s are effective.

Does anyone know what the acutal crappie limit is right now. I heard on the radio that the limit changes take affect on the May 03 opener. However, others say the crappie limit of ten was effective March 1st. Does anyone know for sure????

could anyone tell me how the perch bite is on Winnie? Six of us are coming up on friday the 7th, and fishing on the 8th and the 9th. We are probably gonna fish out from Highbanks Resort. That is the only place we have fished on the ice! My buddy was up there three weeks ago and got a couple dozen 10 inchers! Is there still some action out in 30-35 feet of water, and what are the hot jig colors? Any response would be great! Thanks!

Walleye/sauger closed April 14th on LOW--Check the MN/Ontario border water regulations. Limit is 14 walleye/sauger in combination, of which only 6 can be walleyes. Check your regulations to make sure!

Fished sun out of west wind 12 hours ,30 below in morning the two of us got 0 crappies 10 eyes 12 perch .....fished out of hudecks on monday and got our limit took us all day .....went back on tuesday catch and realeased.....lost count at 60 that was in three hours im guessing over 100 best ice fishing ive ever had ...lots of pictures...one to remember for sure I will be back
