I am looking to go to Maple this weekend to do some crappie fishing. Does anyone know any hot spots and if there are any docks in the lake yet?

JP- are you fishing in a boat or in your waders? I was out on the tube 2 nights ago in that same certain bay and did very well. When they are hitting it sure is fun. Water gets pretty cold on the old mits though. Good Fishin'

Crappies are going crazy in a certain small bay on Maple. bobber, small jig(1-2 feet off the surface) and any bait you can find will work. Very crowded area. Hopefully other places will start producing so the people spread out.

Maple lake is just south of Mentor MN, on Hwy 2. It is about 20 miles east of Crookston.
