Name: THE RED BARON Upper_Red_LakeTOM, THANKS FOR YOU INPUT. I TRIED MOSTLY EVERYTHING THAT YOU SAID, I JUST THINK THAT WE HIT IT ON THE WRONG TIME OF YEAR. WHEN WE WOULD GET HOME, OTHER PEOPLE WOULD TELL US THAT THEY WERE HAMMERING THEM. HAVE YOU EVER USED A AQUA-VIEW ON RED. WHAT IS YOU FEELING TOWARDS USING ONE OF THEM. I LIKE THE VEXILAR 100 TIMES BETTER. THANKS FOR RESPONDING. -THE RED BARON Name: Tom Upper_Red_LakeRed Baron: Also a good idea is to split up your party. Set your portables up in different spots on the lake. that way if one area is hot, you can pull up and set up on the hot spot. Good luck! Name: Troy D Upper_Red_LakeDoes anybody Know if you can spear Northerns on Upper Red Lake. Thanks Name: Jasper Leech_LakeNo reports on the Ice Fishing? It's pretty good down here in the Southern State of Iowa 4-5 inches of ice. We don't have the perch you have. although they seem to be making a comeback. Name: Dan Upper_Red_LakeWant to come out there and do some ice fishin in January, any advice on when, where, how would be greatly appreciated... Name: Tom Upper_Red_LakeRed Baron: Right now the bite is slow. Water is still somewhat cloudy yet. Should clear up soon though. Keep posting and I will try and keep you posted. What you need to do is get your holes drilled and lines down around 4:00. If you do not catch crappie by say 6:00, then move to another spot. A crappie school can be a mere 10 yards away from your hole, or it can be 100 yards. the bite should start around 5-6. If you have not caught anything, then, move. I've been skunked, moved and then nailed them so it does work. Also try puting down different lures with different baits. Crappie minnows and wax worms work best of course and any glow jig is a plus! <snipped by webmaster>We have commercial solutions available on the front page for resorts</snipped> Good luck and keep the ice clean! Name: Hillbilly Detroit_Lakes_FishingNotherns And croppy and sunnys are biting good on Little Detroit lake in about 12 feet of water minnows and wax worms and jigs work good to. good luck to all of you Name: larry blackledge Lake_of_the_Woodsmery xmas all im coming to the woods on 12/26/02 a.m. any info from anyone ,is red lake worth the stop please e mail thank you Name: tom Steffl Lake_of_the_WoodsCan anyone assist in helping with a combo fish at Lake of the Woods with a crappie fish at Upper Red Lake. I have been on Gull alot recently, and I would have to say the bite has been pretty good (not awesome though). I personally have not caught any hawgs yet. a 23 and a 24 incher were the biggest thus far. We have an average of 8 inches and there is about an inch of snow (perfect for the 4 wheeler!). We have been catching our fish in about 30 feet of water on jigging spoons! I have fish houses for rent, so tell your buddy's! Good luck at the contest! Walleyedan
